Friday Photo: Old Yardley Village

Cottages 3
I chose St Edburgh’s Church last month, and this week I wanted to show the beautiful buildings that make up Old Yardley Village. On the left, you can just about make out the original site of the Ring Of Bells Pub, where the Cottagers Institute now stands. It was originally built by Ebenezer Hoskins to teach gardening skills to local people. Although many original buildings were rebuilt in 1800, or thereabouts, the 19th-century buildings that stand today are simply beautiful and well worth a visit.  Like I said in my last Friday Photo, try to visit the village because you won’t be disappointed- it really is hidden gem.
