Friday Photo: The Station Pub, Sutton Coldfield

Station Pub (new)

Today’s Boxing day Friday photo is The Station Pub in Sutton Coldfield, complete with a very festive giant Santa Claus waving to us from the beer garden. The pub, built from beautiful Victorian redbrick, is so named because it lies next to Sutton Coldfield’s main railway station, which was built in 1862. The pub also has the remnants of a hand painted ghost sign on the side of building greeting passengers as they leave the station. The sign advertised Mitchell and Butlers “Bally Boy” Old Irish Whiskies.
