Friday Photo: Erdington Warehouse

This week’s Friday Photo is of a warehouse along the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal in Erdington.

I’m not sure exactly when it dates from and there’s a real lack of information available about this part of the canal stretch, despite some gems that you come across along this branch of the canal. The warehouse straddles the canal between Erdington Hall Bridge and Troutpool Bridge for about 100 yards. Boats would have passed underneath it and loaded / unloaded their goods – a warehouse of this type was built for efficiency and ease of delivery of goods. My aim? To find out more about this building. As I usually say, watch this space!
