The recently installed JFK memorial mosaic by artist Oliver Budd is this weeks The Friday Photo, The original mosaic by Kenneth’s father  was installed in 1968 in St Chads Circus this area was demolished in 2006. Some elements of the original mosaic such as JFK and Martin Luther King were preserved.

The mosaic is on the corner of Floodgate Street and Digbeth High Street, just opposite the Irish Centre. The memorial mosaic is an important part of the Irish community’s heritage here in Birmingham. The mosaic carries the words to the right hand side “A man may die nations may rise and fall but an idea lives on”
