The Friday Photo – Aston Hall’s Long Gallery

Aston Hall’s spectacular Long Gallery

Today’s Friday photo is Aston Hall’s spectacular Long Gallery.  I took the shot last month on a visit to Aston Hall during social event with the BCT supporters and volunteers.  We had a private out of hour’s tour led by fellow volunteer Barbara Nomikos, who works at the Hall.  The house was eerily quiet as we toured the building as the sun set and the moonlight crept upon us. The Long Gallery looked particularly beautiful in the fading light. The Jacobean Aston Hall, built for Sir James Holt from 1618-1635, is one of the jewels of Birmingham and a must see for anyone who hasn’t already visited.
