Lunar Stones

MoonstoneToday’s Friday photo is of the lunar stones, which were commissioned to commemorate the famous Lunar Society.  This was a society made up of members of prominent midland industrialists, philosophers and intellectuals, which included James Watt and Josiah Wedgewood. Nine lunar stones were commissioned to commemorate the members of the Lunar Society. These stones currently stand in the grounds of Asda Queslett, a short walk from Great Barr Hall, one of the many meeting places of the society.
