Friday Photo- Sutton Park

Sutton ParkBirmingham is one of Europe’s greenest cities so it may come as no surprise to learn that Europe’s largest urban park, Sutton Park, is located in our wonderful city. It’s one of my favourite places to visit, especially while walking my dogs, and many a weekend is spent here. Located less than nine miles from the city centre, it’s not only a haven for wildlife, but it’s also steeped in history, even boasting its own Roman Road. Covering over 2000 acres, including seven lakes, Sutton Park is a beautiful place to visit in the spring and summer months, and you’ll have to visit many times to discover all it has to offer. In fact, I may even have to do a second Friday Photo of the park later in the year just to show you how wonderful it really is. Visit over the next couple of weeks and watch as the browns and fawns of winter slowly turn into the lush, rich greens of spring, and you may even spot a daffodil or two!
