Today‘s Friday photo is of a festive St Martin’s church in the Bullring. There has been a church at the centre of the bullring markets site since the 13^th century, the present Victorian church having been built on the site of its demolished predecessor. The majority of the Grade II listed building was built in 1873 in a Victorian Gothic style and designed by Alfred Chatwin. It includes a Burne-Jones stained glass window in the south transept, added in 1875, and Minton Victorian floor tiles. The Church was cleaned and restored as part of the Bullring redevelopment and remains a focal point of the market area to this day. Merry Christmas everyone!
