This week’s Friday photo is of New Hall Valley, located in Sutton Coldfield, and if you look closely, you may even be able to spot New Hall Mill in the background (one of my up-coming Friday Photos). I remember on many occasion gazing out of the window at school, staring at the valley and the Mill, filled with intrigue and wonder about this beautiful part of city and thinking how lucky I was to go to school next door. Although many a memory is of running plenty of cross countries in New Hall Valley, it’s actually a nature conservation site filled with plenty of interesting plants, animals and insects to gaze at. The Mill is open on selected dates throughout the year, but the Valley is worth a visit whatever the season, especially if you’re a keen dog walker like myself, so go and discover this beautiful area. There’s no excuse not to, as it’s nearly summer!
