Challenge for Ernst & Young Volunteers

Ernest & Young Volunteers

A couple of months ago BCT staff and some of our inquisitive research volunteers went to the Erdington warehouse to look for the Newman Brothers business records.   We couldn’t find some of the storage crates we were looking for as they were stacked on pallets by room rather than crate number. Barbara knew there was a whole box of staff clocking in cards somewhere, but it was hidden amongst the 800+ crates.

Who better to solve our little problem then employees of Ernst & Young!! so on 10 May we set them a challenge to reorder all the boxes from 1 – 800 in the warehouse. It took a team of 9 willing volunteers 5 hours, lots of muscle and strategic team working to complete the task. See time lapse below!

Thank you to everyone who took a day away from their desks to help us get our boxes in order.

Oh, and I did find a crate of clocking in cards from 1983!
