The Friday Photo: Old Gauge in Stirchley Baths
Yesterday Karen Cheney from Birmingham City Council gave a number of stakeholders the chance to have an an early tour of Stirchley Baths which is in the first stage of the regeneration work to turn it into a community hub. The Project is managed by Birmingham City Council and work being undertaken by Balfour Beatty following a successful funding bid to Heritage Lottery.
The baths originally opened in 1911 as Bournville Lane Baths and included a swimming pool, baths for men and women as well as a steam room. The building is grade II listed and closed in 1988 to the public. This weeks Friday photo was taken inside and shows the an old gauge used to control the boiler. You can view other pictures inside on the Stirchley Baths website.
