Friday Photo- The Great Hall, University of Birmingham

This week’s Friday Photo is of another one of my favourite spots in the city, The University of Birmingham. It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost ten years since I graduated from Birmingham back in 2006. I really don’t know where the time has gone! I have many fond memories of my time there and was always inspired when walking through the beautiful campus, especially when Old Joe’s bells would ring out. You may have noticed that most of the buildings at Birmingham are in that recognisable red brick, and indeed, this is how the term ‘Red Brick University was coined- no surprise then that it was also officially the first Red Brick University in the country. The Great Hall is probably my favourite and one of the many beautiful red-brick buildings you’ll spot while walking on campus, and the blossom has just appeared, so go and visit!
