NEWMAN BROTHERS COFFIN FITTING WORKS
Fleet Street, Hockley, Birmingham
Expressions of interest are invited from suitable qualified contractors for alteration and repair work to this at risk Grade II* Jewellery Quarter factory. Comprehensive repairs are required to all elements of the fabric, including roof repairs, replacement and refurbishment of cast iron windows, and complete replacement of services. The Client is Birmingham Conservation Trust and the project is being funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage, ERDF and charitable trusts. The approximate value of the contract is £1.37m.
Contractors expressing an interest will be asked to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire, and following formal assessment of the PQQs, formal tenders will be invited from a shortlist up to 7 contractors. Contractors will be required to demonstrate they have the necessary craft and management skills to undertake the job and have a willingness to provide and experience of training and community engagement. Contractors must be registered with the Construction Industry Training Board.
Expressions of interest should be received by 30th July. PQQs will be sent out the following week. Completed PQQs to be submitted by 30th August. It is anticipated that tender documents will be issued in early October for return by end of November. Work on site will commence in early 2013.
