Come on Heritage Sector – Let’s recognise our amazing volunteers! Heritage Alliance Heroes Award

Posted June 20th, 2012 by Suzanne Carter with No Comments

A couple of weeks ago we told you about the English Heritage Heritage Angels award.

This week there is another opportunity for recognition of the excellent work done by volunteers in the heritage sector… the

Heritage Alliance Heroes Award.

Deadline 30 June

Here’s how to enter – it’s really easy…..

The Award, which is open to Heritage Alliance member organisations and their members, should showcase an inspirational project that was completed in the past 12 months by a volunteer, individual or team (professional work is not excluded if funded and managed by volunteer effort) where the project has had a long-term impact and commanded the respect of the sector.

They are particularly interested to hear about projects that are likely to appeal to a wider non-heritage audience and offer a powerful human story, which we can tell to the nation.

Applying couldn’t be easier – just submit a short nomination, with one image that encapsulates the project, by email before 30 June to Alliance Trustee Denis Dunstone denis.dunstone@talktalk.net  Enquiries also to Denis please on 02795 941595.

Last year the Award was won jointly by Inayat Omarji of the All Souls Crompton Community Centre Trust in Bolton, and the volunteers of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways in Gwynedd. Read about their work here
